Let’s face it, February in the Midwest can take a toll on your skin. If you are like us, it especially takes a toll on your lips. This do it yourself lip scrub not only smells amazing, but it is made of healthy all natural ingredients. Plus, it tastes delicious!

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup organic cane sugar
  • 2 tablespoons freshly ground organic coffee beans
  • 1 tablespoon of organic acai powder
  • 1 teaspoon organic cinnamon
  • Dr. Bronner’s organic virgin coconut oil (add to preferred texture)
  • 5 drops of Tarte Maracuja oil
  • 2 tablespoons red sugar

Start by separating all of your ingredients into small cups for easy mixing.

Using a grinder, grind your coffee beans into a small grain-like consistency.

Coffee is an amazing exfoliant! It aids in plumping up the skin by increasing circulation. Which hello, who doesn’t want fuller lips? Using freshly ground coffee ensures you are getting its full amazing benefits.

Next, place the sugar in a bowl and add your ground coffee, acai, and cinnamon. Then mix them all together.

Take your coconut oil and add it into your dry mix one tablespoon at a time.  Do this until you are close to the scrub consistency you prefer. We added about 2 1/2 teaspoons to ours.

Next, add your maracuja oil and mix again.

Now add your red sugar and fold it in while being careful not to over mix, as you want your red sugar to stand out.

If you find that it is too wet add more cane sugar. If it is too dry add more coconut oil.

Finally using a spread knife, place your mix into a small glass jar for storage. Voila! Your very own Valentine lip scrub!
